Testifii ("Testifii", "we", "us") helps car dealerships collect customer video testimonials, display them on dealership websites, and receive shopper inquiries.
This policy covers dealership staff using our dashboard or Testifii Capture app, customers giving testimonials, shoppers using our dealership website features, and visitors to testifii.com.
We generally handle customer and shopper information for the dealership, whose privacy policy also applies. Testifii is responsible for its own account administration, support, security, and separately authorized testimonial marketing. Contact the dealership or use the form on our Support page with questions.
We collect your name, work email, telephone number, login credentials, optional photo, dealership role, and account activity. Supabase handles password authentication. Capture also uses a notification token to deliver notifications and collects crash and diagnostic information to troubleshoot problems.
With your device permissions, Capture uses the camera and microphone and may access a video you choose from your photo library. Recordings stay in private app storage while awaiting upload, not in your camera roll. After confirmed upload, local copies become eligible for cleanup after 24 hours and are removed when the app can run that cleanup.
We use this information to operate accounts, deliver enabled notifications, record account activity, and fix problems. Managers see relevant account information; other staff see information the product displays, such as video credits. Testifii and the providers in section 5 also handle it. Manage app permissions in device settings.
We collect your video and audio, name, vehicle information, any requested star rating, signed release, and records of approval or removal. The release record includes your signature, the wording accepted, date and time, and recording employee. We generate captions from the audio.
We publish testimonials and document permission within your signed release. Permitted uses may include playback, cropping, shortening, captions, still images, and combinations with other testimonials on dealership websites or in marketing. Testifii marketing and demonstrations are allowed only if your signed release permits them. This policy does not expand your release.
Before manager approval, access is limited to authorized dealership staff, Testifii, and providers. Published videos and display information are public. Your signature and release record are not published with the testimonial.
You can withdraw permission by contacting the dealership or selecting "Take my video down" on the form on our Support page. Once we locate the video and verify the request as needed, we promptly disable playback through Testifii and stop uses under our control, including our own marketing. The dealership must stop uses it controls. Copies independently saved or published by others may remain outside our control.
Removed videos are ordinarily held for 30 days to allow correction of mistakes, then scheduled for permanent deletion. We delete sooner where legally required. A withdrawn testimonial is not republished without renewed permission. Consent and removal records may be retained as explained in section 7.
When Testifii runs on a page, we collect the page and vehicle viewed, testimonials shown, plays, and viewing progress. We use a random browser identifier to measure return visits to that dealership's website. It contains no name or email and is not derived from device characteristics, but it still recognizes a returning browser.
The dealership can disable that cross-visit identifier. A separate temporary identifier can still connect pages viewed within one browser tab. Browser settings let you clear or block local website storage, although doing so can affect features and does not delete information already recorded.
Testifii's shopper activity records exclude IP addresses, browser-identifying details, referring websites, and location. Separately, hosting, video-delivery, and diagnostic providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, approximate location, requests, and playback diagnostics to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service. The cross-visit identifier setting does not control this technical processing.
If you submit an inquiry, we collect your name, email, telephone number, message, and vehicle of interest. We send it by email to the dealership's CRM and retain a copy for its dashboard. We use shopper information to operate these features, measure testimonial performance, and enable the dealership to respond. The dealership is responsible for its follow-up communications.
We do not use shopper activity or leads for targeted advertising across unrelated websites.
We use server logs and error reporting to operate and secure our site. These may include IP addresses, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and errors. The form on our Support page collects your name, email, dealership if provided, request type, and message so we can respond.
We do not run third-party advertising on testifii.com or enable third parties to track visitors across unrelated websites for advertising through our site. We do not respond to the older browser Do Not Track signal. This does not limit any opt-out rights or signals we must honor under applicable law.
We share testimonials and inquiries with the relevant dealership. Public testimonial uses are described in section 2. We use these providers for their respective roles:
Mux: video storage, streaming, processing, and captions.
Supabase: database and account authentication.
Vercel: website, dashboard, and application hosting.
Resend: email delivery, including dealership inquiries.
Sentry: error and crash reporting.
CarAPI: vehicle lookup, using vehicle descriptions rather than personal information.
Microsoft 365: mailboxes receiving support messages.
Apple and Google: app distribution and notification delivery.
Stripe is planned for dealership payments but is not yet active. When activated, Stripe will process payment details; Testifii will not store full card numbers.
We limit providers' access to their service roles and require appropriate confidentiality and data protection. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may disclose information to comply with law, address fraud or security problems, or protect legal rights and safety. Information may transfer in a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, subject to applicable law and the commitments in this policy.
Testifii operates in the United States. Information is processed in the United States and may also be processed in other countries where our providers operate, including for video delivery and support.
We keep dealership account information, testimonials, leads, and activity records while needed to provide the service. Cancellation does not automatically delete the account's information. We may retain it to support reactivation, subject to deletion requests and applicable law. We review retained information and delete or de-identify it when no longer reasonably needed.
Removed video files follow the process in section 2. Consent and removal records may outlast the video where reasonably necessary to document permission, honor withdrawals, comply with law, or establish or defend legal claims. We do not retain them longer than reasonably needed for those purposes.
Support, security, and diagnostic records are kept as needed to resolve requests, maintain the service, and meet legal obligations. Backup copies may remain until routinely replaced and are restricted to recovery and other necessary legal or security purposes.
Request deletion through the form on our Support page. Lawfully retained records remain protected and cannot be used to republish a withdrawn testimonial. Deletion does not automatically remove copies held separately by dealerships or other recipients.
We use access controls, separation of dealership data, and staff permissions to protect information. Videos use expiring signed playback links. These controls cannot prevent someone from recording or saving a video while it is available. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee against loss or unauthorized access.
Testifii is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. Dealership accounts and testimonial participants must be adults, age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. To report a child appearing in a testimonial or submitting information, choose "Privacy request" on the form on our Support page so we can investigate and remove information as appropriate.
Choose "Privacy request" on the form on our Support page for access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information. Applicable law may also provide a portable copy, use of an authorized representative, or an appeal through the same form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
We aim to respond within 30 days and will meet applicable legal deadlines. If a permitted extension is needed, we will explain why and when to expect a response.
We may verify identity and request details to locate records, coordinating with the dealership where appropriate. If we cannot fulfill a request, including where lawful retention of a release is necessary, we explain why and any applicable appeal option.
We post revisions here with an updated date. For material changes, we also provide a prominent notice on our website or within the service, or contact affected users when appropriate. We obtain additional consent where required before using previously collected information in a materially different way.
